Kathy Plaisted: Founder, Executive Director

Kathy is certified as an Equine Specialist with over 25 years of horse experience.  She holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and an undergraduate degree in Non-Profit Management and Marketing.   She has worked in a number of settings including private practice, colleges, churches, and other non-profits and has had great success with clients who have failed to thrive in the traditional "office therapy" environment. She has a long history of providing support within the community including: more than 15 years of counseling and outreach services to youth and adult victims of trauma; equine-assisted therapy to the blind and disabled; serving as a volunteer Lieutenant for the San Diego Humane Society's Animal Rescue Reserve; and serving as an elected member on the Lakeside Community Planning Group.  She is an active member of the Equine Growth and Learning Association and holds certifications in  Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Equine-Assisted Learning, and Equine-Assisted Personal Development.
