Equine Rescue

Just like the people in our society, animals are often overlooked, misunderstood, neglected, or abused.  At Rocking Horse Ranch we have made it our goal to rescue horses whenever possible, and allow them a place at our ranch where they can contribute to the betterment of our community.  Through working with, and helping to rehabilitate these hurting animals, people are able to find hope and healing for themselves, while at the same time helping to make a difference for the thousands who visit the ranch each year.

Rocking Horse Ranch is a place of second chances, for people as well as for animals.  Not everybody has been given opportunities or made choices that would be considered a "good start" in life.  But, like the horses here at the ranch, everyone deserves the support and encouragement to run a good race and finish strong.

The following video is one such "against the odds" story. Meet Elmhurst, one of our ranch favorites.  Small for the sport and last out of the starting gate, "Elmo" not only set a track record, but went on to win millions in his racing career.  His story is an encouragement to many to be of good courage and never lose heart.
